Keith Piper
Keith Piper (born 1960) is a British artist, curator, critic and academic. He was a founder member of the groundbreaking BLK Art Group, an association of black British art students, mostly based in the West Midlands region of the UK.
Mykaell Riley
Mykaell is a professional writer/producer, encompassing music, television, film and theatre. He is founder of Steel Pulse, The Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra, Director for The Black Music Research Unit, and Principal Investigator for Bass Culture Research, at the University of Westminster.
Orii Community
Orii is a community of like-minded musicians, artists & creatives who connect each and every week through their weekly jam sessions, Mondays at Colour Factory and Tuesdays at Jumbi. Orii is the Yoruba reflective spark of collective consciousness, embedded in the human essence, our accumulative shared soul. When you obtain alignment with Orii, you inhabit your true, divine self. Through Orii's weekly jam sessions they connect, celebrate and raise their collective vibration, connecting to a shared soul, Orii.
Lauren Gee
This series of events has been curated by Lauren Gee and developed with Tate Learning. Lauren is a public programme curator and artist moving image producer from London. Lauren has produced films for artists Alberta Whittle, Onyeka Igwe and Beverley Bennett as well as curating public programmes and supporting audience engagement for London Short Film Festival, South London Gallery, Tate, Create and Film London. This year Lauren is part of BlackStar film festival's Programme Committee, reviewing Short Narrative works.
